Explore Buenos Aires in 4 days: Recoleta Cemetery, Teatro Colón, La Boca, tango show & gaucho day in the Pampas.
Buenos Aires is one of those cities that gets under your skin. Grand Haussmann-inspired boulevards, a theatre culture that rivals Paris, football passion that fills every street corner, and a tango tradition born in the working-class tenements of La Boca — all of it layered into a capital that feels simultaneously European and unmistakably South American.
This 4-day Classic Buenos Aires tour is designed for travelers who want to experience the real city: the iconic landmarks, yes, but also the gaucho culture of the Pampas, the cobblestones of San Telmo, and the electric intimacy of a late-night tango performance at Café Tortoni. Private English-speaking guides throughout. No large groups.
Perfect as a standalone Argentina experience or as the starting point for a longer South American journey through Bolivia, Peru, or Patagonia.

Buenos Aires is a year-round destination. The best weather is in spring (September–November) and autumn (March–May) when temperatures are mild (15–25°C) and the city is at its most beautiful. Summer (December–February) is hot and humid. Winter (June–August) is mild by international standards — rarely below 5°C — but can be grey and rainy. The gaucho day in the Pampas is enjoyable in any season.
Yes. The city tour, tango show, and gaucho day are all family-friendly. Children typically love the estancia experience — horseback riding, the asado, and seeing working gauchos. The tango show at Café Tortoni is an early evening experience, manageable for older children. We can adjust the pace for families with younger children on request.
Absolutely. All Andes 2 Amazon Argentina tours are privately guided and can be adjusted. Common customizations include adding a Tigre Delta excursion, a polo day, a Buenos Aires food and wine tour, or extending the trip with Iguazú Falls, Bariloche, or Mendoza. Contact us to design your ideal itinerary.
All tours are conducted in English by certified English-speaking Argentine guides. If you require a guide in another language, please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
Tipping is customary in Argentina but never obligatory. A general guideline is USD 10–20 per person per day for your guide, and USD 5–10 per day for your driver. Tips are not included in the tour price.
We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance to ensure guide and hotel availability, particularly during peak travel seasons (July–August and December–January). The tango show at Café Tortoni and the estancia experience both require advance reservations.
Yes — and this is one of Andes 2 Amazon's signature strengths. Classic Buenos Aires connects naturally with our Bolivia tours (La Paz, Salar de Uyuni, Lake Titicaca) via air, and with Peru (Cusco, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain) as part of a multi-country South American itinerary. Ask us about our combined Bolivia + Argentina and Peru + Bolivia + Argentina routes.
