The ultimate Uyuni experience: sunset, Milky Way stargazing & sunrise — all in one night on the salt flats. Private 4WD & English guide. Book now.
This is the one you'll talk about for years.
From the moment the sun touches the Andean horizon at dusk, to the deep silence of a star-blanketed midnight, to the slow explosion of color as dawn breaks over the world's largest salt flat — this tour takes you through the full 12-hour cycle of one extraordinary night in Bolivia.
It is, without question, the most complete natural experience available on the Salar de Uyuni.
Most travelers rest at their accommodation between approximately 9:30 PM and 2:30 AM. The guide will coordinate pickup times. Some travelers prefer to stay up — Uyuni has places open late.
It depends on the children. The experience itself is gentle (no physical exertion), but the duration and cold temperatures at 3:00 AM make it more suitable for older children and teenagers. Talk to us when you book and we'll advise.
Two things: continuity and value. The experience of watching a full natural cycle on the salt flats — from the last light of day to the first light of morning — is qualitatively different from three separate trips. You also save significantly on per-tour costs.
The Bolivian altiplano weather changes quickly. Your guide monitors conditions throughout the night and adjusts locations accordingly. Some of the most memorable experiences happen on partially cloudy nights — dramatic cloud formations at sunset, stars appearing between gaps, dawn breaking through thin cloud.
